If there was one thing common that was constantly nagging the co-founders of Happy People/ELSA, was the fact that our society and education system in India almost completely ignored the right brain! While globally research shows that it is the right brainers and the whole-brainers who will rule the world, we found that the entire eco-system was focusing purely on analytical and logical reasoning skills!
The founders of ELSA Igy, Jayaram and Murali’s journeys were pretty varied in terms of careers they had or the businesses that they ran until four years ago.
While Igy realized that companies were grappling with work forces that were super skilled analytically but could only do business with machines, he started walking down the path to kit employees with requisite skills to make corporate India a force to reckon with globally.
Murali, the Happyness coach was on his own trip till his business collapsed due to an unethical bunch of friends who he had partnered with. When this happened he went deep into studying the yogic science to analyze human behavior and to see if he could help people lead happy fulfilling lives. This process led him to become a life coach and a highly sought after NLP coach today.
Jayaram on the other hand post his MBA joined his family business Bril, brought in systems that would take the business to the next level. Something had struck Jayaram when he sat in his HR and Strategy specialization classes with just one other guy and 15 girls (out of a class of 130) in B-school. He realized that the entire eco system, primarily because of our education system and societal conditioning was ignoring one of the most important aspects of life – Human Beings!
While people were focused on their math’s, science, marketing plans and financial plans they were forgetting that business, work and life is all about People! This realization further fired his passion to transform the way children and youngsters are taught in schools, colleges and at home.
While most companies boast of Superstar co-founders, we’d like to say that we are ordinary people who have failed several times in our lives but have always felt happy and successful.
